Anaesthesia Appointment - when should this be?

Hi ladies! I'm a FTM who had major spinal surgery 13 years ago and have been told I'll need to see the anaesthetist before birth to discuss my options. I was referred at 16 weeks by the consultant but have yet to receive my appointment. I'm away on holiday from 28 weeks - 30 weeks and I'm conscious time is pressing on. Has anyone had one of these ? When is the norm week to discuss options? Thanks in advance !

I have one booked at 32 weeks. I was told they don't like to see you too early.

@Rhian okay this would be a great date. I panicked because the midwife told me they're likely to see me around 36 weeks which I thought could be cutting it fine! (dependent on how the pregnancy progresses)

I got mine at 34 weeks booked😇

Yeah I got referred at 12 weeks had my appointment last week, felt like I waited ages xx hope you are ok xx

@Hayley how many weeks were you? Glad you got one sorted! 💕 I'm doing well just wanted to know my options 😊 xx

@Raluca thank you! Good to know it usually happens a little later on. Feel I can relax a bit now 😊

I had mine at 23 weeks (had spinal procedures last year), talked through pain relief options and agreed a suitable birth plan and said they won't need to see me again. They seemed surprised to see me so early so I don't think that's standard 😊

28 weeks xx

@Alex what do you mean by spinal procedure?🤔

@Alex perfect, thanks for this! Glad you got sorted 😊
