Congratulations mama ā¤ Thank you sharing! How was your hospital experience as a overdue mama? Did you feel pressure to get induced?
@Fay no pressure at all! I requested a scan at around 41 weeks and was reassured that baby was healthy and all the checks came back as normal so I kept going āŗļø
Congratulations! š¤ Iām planning for a home birth and Iām 40+5 currently.. Iām getting nervous about going over the 42 week mark.. were you supported by NHS midwives after 42 weeks for your home birth?
@Jaide Iām currently 42+1 and they are still supporting my home birth, of course they try to offer sweeps and I am on frequent monitoring at the hospital now but so far so good
@Jaide what makes you nervous about going over the 42 week mark? My care was under independent midwives from the start but I did have to check in with my assigned NHS community midwife. They were supportive of me going ahead with the home birth even after 42 weeks. I had a healthy pregnancy and there was no reason for me to be in a hospital setting so I kept affirming that š©·
@Marina @Fatou oh amazing for you both. Iām nervous because we are now having the conversation of the increased risk of still birth after 42 weeks. I know the increase is very very small, but in my partners opinion, itās still a risk. Having him be nervous by the numbers is making me wobble a little bit mentally
@Jaide you could request more regular scans to monitor baby if that will help calm your nerves āŗļø discuss your options with your midwife and go with what youāre comfortable with š©· good luck!
