How long did it take for your HCG levels to drop to negative?

It’s been 5 weeks since my bleed, 4 since my first blood test and diagnosis of suspected ectopic. I am still testing pregnant, although faintly. It feels like it’s taking a lifetime to get that negative test again which is making all of this so much harder!! How long did it take others to get their negative test?

I’m on a similar path…. I found out about my ectopic on the Tuesday 16th of July (my HCG levels were 1095), they dropped to 850 on the Thursday than 600 on the Saturday and 450 on the Wednesday (1 week 1 day after finding out my ectopic), last week Wednesday (2 weeks and 1 day after ectopic) I was down to 199, hoping I am back down to 0 this upcoming Wednesday so I can be done with this saga, And start trying again… I find going to the hospital and being confronted with the pregnancy loss and seeing the maternity and birth centre just like it opens a fresh wound :( I also took a pregnancy test yesterday and fairly sure I didn’t see any line…

Roughly about 4-5 weeks (via blood tests) xx

Thanks both! My levels have dropped so so slowly. I began bleeding 3rd July, had blood tests every 2 days which then moved to weekly. 5 weeks on and I’ve done a test this morning and it’s still showing as pregnant which is annoying because on Wednesday by levels were finally under 100, they were 64.. so I truly thought by today I would be at least under 25 so the test wouldn’t pick it up but nope! Still faintly there 😞 just want it to all be over now so I can also move on! X

I know, in a very similar situation :( I got tested Wednesday and am now down to 79… was really hoping I would be down to 0 so my husband and I can start trying again but alas I have to get tested Tuesday again (before I go on holiday…)

I also haven’t bled very much, I was pretty much spotting since I got pregnant (which is what led me to go to the EPU and find out I was having an ectopic) but even once my levels have started dropping I haven’t had a huge amount of bleeding (and only dark brown blood -nothing red…)

@Aimée it’s the worst isn’t it. Once I reached 64 I didn’t bother going back in for bloods, just tested at home with pregnancy tests they gave me because it was too much for me to keep going back. I finally got my NEARLY negative on Wednesday this week. It was so so so faintly positive that you could only see it under a certain light. I’ve also had bleeding the last two days but again on and off. I can’t wait to have a real period and move forward and try again. Hope you’re is resolved soon too xxx
