In my town for counselling sessions. The charity provides free counselling services for any pregnant woman or mum with under 2s in my area. I am feeing much better after giving birth but I sometimes still have low moods and anxiety. So far is manageable but the GP and health visitor both aware I have previous history of depression and anxiety so every time I sees them they will ask me about it to make sure I am ok. Don’t afraid to ask help that’s the best advice I can give you.
I’m going through something very similar. -miscarried and then got pregnant with my son 3 months later - I had a serious uti and kidney infection during pregnancy that was antibiotic resistant that resulted in hospitalization and a month of iv antibiotics - I had HG and couldn’t keep anything down - family drama that’s so crazy I could write a best seller 😅 - might have to move soon I understand a lot of what you are going through and wanted you to know you are not alone. Feel free to message me anytime ❤️. I hope things look up soon for you.
I’ve been in a similar situation and have ended up with PPD and PPA. Definitely recommend going to your GP. I’ve been really open with mine and my HV and it’s only had positive results - I restarted anti-anxiety meds, my GP is happy for me to book appointments as and when I need for support and my HV comes out to the house for extra visits and support
Reach out to support groups and talk about it with your friends. It’s so normal and needs to be normalized. You shouldn’t have to suffer alone. Hormones are crazy right now and you need to take care of yourself too. I’m not sure where you are but there could be a public health nurse or Facebook groups for PPD or even just notifying some of your girlfriends or family, it’s a rough go but you will get through it. But it’s hard to get through it alone. Please reach out to someone 💙
My experience is you need to get help asap when you realise you might have a mental health problem such as depression or anxiety. Sometimes you just need to have someone professional to guide you to process the emotions you are going through. I have had PPD before and it can be very serious. Don’t worry about how it will look. They actually prefer you ask for help early instead of dreading it till it becomes a bigger problem. I had a very difficult pregnancy as well. 16 weeks I had an emergency abdominal surgery which I had to stay in bed completely for almost 4 weeks to recover. And then got diagnosed with Gestational diabetes at the same weeks. From the diagnosis till I gave birth I probably had about 1000 (if not more) insulin injections and finger pricks. And then got a really bad pregnancy induced rash that no doctor can really find a way actually can help. Resulting from 20weeks I have not slept till I gave birth. It was just too much I had ended up reach out to a charity
