How to help my baby sit unassisted?

Anyone else’s baby learn to crawl before sitting unassisted? My son is SO close to crawling but isn’t that interested in sitting, he’s able to for a few seconds but doesn’t really want to. We practice all the time, what are some more ways to help him learn? Btw he’s 6mo

To help my kids I would sit them by themselves and put toys in front of them to keep them focused. Does he just not like to sit at all? Like so you use a boppy or a sit me up?

Mine was crawling all over the place first and only close to 7-7.5 started to sit. I read that there is no need to rush sitting, as baby's spine and muscles need time to form. If your baby is crawling at 6, it's already ahead with developmental milestones! I would also recommend to discuss with your pediatrician if you have any concerns

@Alexus it’s not that he doesn’t like to at all it’s just he stiffens up when I try to get him to sit (he’s also super focused on trying to crawl rn) I only put him in his sit me up sometimes when he eats (usually when parts of high chair in wash), I just started to try and use a boppy to give him a bit more support to help him he just doesn’t seem interested in it. When we practice I’ll help him get in the tripod position and he can stay there for 30 sec- a minute and topples over and tries to crawl lol
