@Randi okay we haven't tried those ones yet.
What kind of food does she like? Plain tofu cubes are white, bland, and have plenty of protein. Refried beans are delicious and a sensory experience. (And great for drawing!) Eggs can be hard boiled, scrambled, fried.. and kids enjoy cracking them. Chickpea noodles are great substitutes for plain noodles or Mac & cheese. Chickpea rice and cous cous are pretty bland, but can easily be spiced up with bullion for you. Even foods like oatmeal have hidden protein. You never know until you try... 😀
@Bonny she is a good eater she eats everything but just smaller amounts. She snacks often also. So it's really strange she's not gaining weight. Her dad thinks we should have her thyroid tested.
What protein drink did you try? My kids hated pediasure but that’s an option, my son loves the chocolate carnation breakfast essentials drinks! Boy cannot keep weight on so periodically we make him drink them, doesn’t take much convincing lol. He drinks one along with a full breakfast at school.
If she's a good eater, is she just too up and active to sit down and eat? Could you take her on long stroller walks where there's not much else to do but snack and take in the view? You could also make smoothies. My husband does one for the kids that's just banana, orange, and ice, but you could easily add in a protein powder and not even notice. Real foods are probably best, but it's an idea.
Boathouse has drinks that have protein in them.. I let my kiddo choose what one she wants (lots of flavors to choose from) except the coffee one. I get them for myself when I am not able to eat too.
