I went there for my first and was induced there, the staff were really lovely and the facilities were good but I found when it came to birth it was quite a busy time of year and it seemed like they were quite understaffed and communication wasn't great. When my induction failed a member of staff came round to talk to me about my options and I requested a C-section, I was given the drugs for it and told to fast from midnight, and the next morning was told that nobody actually booked my procedure in and we had to rush to Winchester for the procedure instead.

I was with Basingstoke for the first 20 weeks of my second pregnancy and then moved to Frimley Park Hospital due to a lack of car from Basingstoke staff regarding my mental health, and I was hoping for a VBAC and Frimley are very pro VBAC. Absolutely can’t fault the care with Frimley, I had the best experience and opted for them again for my third 🤍

Basingstoke was amazing with my induction with my first baby, going back for my 2nd due in Feb☺️

Had a terrible experience at Basingstoke with my first (but it was during covid). I was induced which worked straight away and then had to wait 72 hours on the ward before being taken to delivery as it was too busy. Ended in an emergency c section and the communication was awful and I had ptsd. Vowed I would never go back for another baby. Had my second at Winchester and it was brilliant a brilliant experience. Staff were kind and the facilities were a little less dated than Basingstoke. However.. I have heard from lots of people who’ve had amazing experiences at Basingstoke so I think I was just particularly unlucky.

I switched from Basingstoke to royal Surrey during my first pregnancy due to a bad experience at Basingstoke. They’re very hit and miss, and there will always be good and bad experiences x

Basingstoke couldn't have been better for me, we were in for 5 days and were so well looked after 🥰 I almost missed it when we went home! I'd definitely go to your nearest hospital for when you need to travel in labour!

I think you're going to hear good and bad experiences on here! My ex SIL had her baby years ago in Salisbury hospital and hated it. However I had my girl at Salisbury in May and they were lovely! I had my first in the William Harvey in Kent 14 years ago, such a great experience, yet they're now in special measures which is just sad

I'd go for your nearest hospital though, as you may labour fast so you don't want to have a long journey in the car trust me!

Yeah thats what im thinking Basingstoke is the nearest hospital just 15mins away Reckon will go there Thanks ladies for sharing your experience and thoughts xx❤️

Basingstoke was terrible for me! Left alone, no help, placed on sepsis pathway due to picking up an infection from induction and then had emergency surgery as lost 48% of blood. Left alone with iv drips on both hands, so couldn’t pick up baby, pressed bell for help no one came, asked for help going to the toilet and they forgot about me all staff went into meeting so I ended up wetting myself, truly horrible experience!
