If you’re at this point, the trust is already gone. It’s not going to do either of you any good to set him up. He’s gonna get mad and you’re gonna get your feelings hurt. Cut your losses and move on - find someone worthy of your time who doesn’t make you question their loyalty.
I agree with the above comment. This is a waste of your time, you already know something is weird. There's no need to set him up, ask him if he's hiding something and if you can see his phone. If he gets defensive or turns it around, that's the answer. Any man who has nothing to hide would let you see if you ask plainly. The set up just makes him feel important, the best thing to do is move on. Even if he isn't cheating, do you really wanna stay with someone who makes you feel like they are and hides it? I once knew a guy who wasn't cheating but used to make his girlfriend paranoid and do shady things to make her confidence go down so she'd stay with him. She went through all the drama of trying to set him up and even though he wasn't cheating when she set him up, he started after because he liked the drama. Had this woman messaging women who were WAY out of his league because he made her jealous of them. Made her look crazy and she stayed for some years. I was happy for her when she left finally.

If he’s using an iPhone, top left corner click on “edit” then “show recently deleted” messages. If he doesn’t know of this feature, any messages/thread that he has deleted within 30days should be there🫶🏾
I don't have Snapchat but he is deleting the messages and letting them dissappear instantly after he sees the message. He is probably worried someone is gonna message and your gonna see it sleeping or not. He might be cheating. That's a huge red flag that he is always fighting you about his phone. If he can't leave it in the open and you can't use his phone or see it when he is around, he is definitely hiding something.
