Weaning

Hi mamas, I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding since birth and I will not change my method. I don’t pump, as I tried and affected my journey negatively. I will start weaning soon and I have bought this to dilute some of the veg to make purées. But I will not dilute too much as I want to keep a thicker consistency. I have never bought formula before. Is this ok? It says 1 I didn’t buy the follow up milk as my baby never had formula before. Please send advices if you have any…

You can use cows milk to mix into food from 6 months old :) but I am sure that is ok too! Xx

Hiya, I am also exclusively bfeeding mama without any pumping. I just started weaning and during the first morning feed I pop on Hakka on the other side to catch the letdown and that's enough to use for weaning needs, in case this helps x

You can use any milk for food such as oat, soya etc

There's no need to buy follow on milks at all, they can stay on stage 1 until they no longer need formula so yes this is fine to use for weaning. You can also use cows milk or milk alternatives for food purposes from 6 months (just not as main milk drink which it won't be if you're continuing breastfeeding). You also don't have to do purees at all, can give them solid food right from the start if you wanted, really helps with their grasp and self feeding skills.

Thank you all so much!

I just thin with water but have bought full fat cows milk for porridge
