@Danielle same. The sink in my ward wasn't working, neither was the one in the hallway, so there was nowhere to get water from anyway. I was very glad that I'd taken wipes.
I was thinking about this the other day, also my second child. I think I might just take very sensitive wipes this time. I think the cotton balls made life harder dealing with those early sticky poos! But we shall see
FYI to you all…. Amazon prime day is coming up and last prime day I got a mega deal on water wipes!! Hoping they have the same deal again this time haha :)
@Anna id taken wipes, but been told not to use them! 😫. Every midwife/ward seems to say different. X
@Megan that’s so strange, I used them with both my babies at the hospital
@Megan they were so short-staffed that I barely saw any staff all night. Even when I buzzed for help (post c-section) noone had time. I don't think they could've cared less 🙈 Hoping for a better experience this year, but as I'm having baby at Christmas, I anticipate it being a skeleton crew again.
I just took wipes the second time. And I used cotton pads the make up ones the first time so the cotton wool doesn’t stick. Game changer. Your baby your choice. A midwife can only advice :)
@Anna that’s so rubbish for you 😟 which hospital were you in? X
@Lucy oooo cotton pads sound better!! Especially for a boy 🤣
@Megan St James's x
@Megan midwives can't tell you how to look after your baby, you are "allowed" to use wipes if you want to 🙂
I took cotton pads and water wipes but ended up using water wipes as I had a c-section so couldn’t move around too much to get water etc. The midwives didn’t care at the hospital even though they saw me using them x
I never got given any when I had my girl last year 🙂xx
