GD C Section - nobody willing to book it in yet!

Hello, so basically I was diagnosed with GD around 6 weeks ago, currently 32 weeks and diet controlled. I am having more spikes so expecting meds potentially at my next catch up which is in 2 days. Baby was measuring 4lb 10 at 31 weeks growth scan, no percentile updates on my badger notes to check. I’ve been told a c sec is preferred and I want one anyway due to previous third degree tear. I’m seeing lots of people with dates already and wondering how do I get it booked in? They keep saying it depends on my growth scans but surely this is the same for everyone with GD? I’m hoping to deliver at 38/39 weeks just purely because of the size of baby and rate she is growing at. Any advice please on who is best to speak too - GD midwife or consultant? Both? Thankyou x

I didn't get my date till 36 weeks xxx

@Sammy yes that's when I got mine I saw the consultant after and they booked me in xx

My last pregnancy I was confirmed gd at 35w. Booked my section at 36w. Baby born 37+2. I'm 30w now. Gd confirmed at 25w. My Dr has told me will be getting booked in for section for 37th week like last time. But I dont knkw when they will give me an exact date. X

@Chrissy oh thankyou I think it’s a case of monitoring the growth and sugars isn’t it, I’m going to ask at my app this week when I’ll be able to find out. I have an older daughter and I don’t want to be scrambling last minute for childcare but I’m sure that won’t happen xx

hey, i was diagnosed at 14w so have been medicated since then. i had my 32w growth scan last week & saw the consultant after that, they booked my c-section that day, but i know they book it for a lot of people after the 36w scan! not sure why they did it at 32w for me - i guess it was cos baby was measuring above 97th percentile twice in a row (28w & 32w scans) xx

They booked mine in around 32 weeks but I had other factors they wanted to make sure what I wanted as I wanted vbac. It was originally an induction but after 14 hours I asked for C-section at 38 weeks.

Still too soon. Every provider is different. Just keep going to your appointments, they will eventually schedule your c-section.

I was told I might get mine this week, at 30 weeks, buts that’s only because my GD has been under control for so long. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t get it until much later when they’d have a better idea of the best plan of action xx

Oh thankyou all that’s good then from 36 weeks hopefully I’ll know. I just keep seeing people with dates in and didn’t know if I’d missed something with this being my first section. I know they need to monitor growth and stuff so that makes a lot of sense thanks for all your comments I’m sure they’ll do whatever is best xxx

I've been told I will get given my date 7-11 days before my actual due date 🫣 I've even pushed twice to get a date but they were having none of it. Xx

@Sarah ohh my local hosp are saying now at my 36 week app I can book it in for a week commencing, and then get a specific day nearer to the time. Xx

Oh really, apparently I will get an email with the date keep refreshing my emails and junk 😂
