Breech baby position - ECV

Hi All!! I am currently 35 weeks 6 days and my baby is in breech position. As I am planning for veginal delivery I would like to opt for ECV to turn my baby to head down position. But I got to know that there is 50-50 chance of success and if baby is not supporting it may lead to emergency c section. So I am in dilemma to go for it or not. I also feel it’s good to have full term baby unless something is out of your control. Does anyone have any such experiences/ suggestions to turn baby to head down position please share with me. Thanks alot in advance !!

They still have time actually, so please don’t panic. You can do a variety of exercises yourself, you can check them out on spinningbabies.com or find it on YouTube by searching something like baby breech position exercises It’s pretty rare to have a breech baby, footling is 3% and transverse is 0.003% so I’m pretty positive you’ll be able to get them to move either by staying active and doing certain poses or your med team will move them

I don't want to scare you but I wanted to share my story with you! For baby 1 who was frank breech and refused to turn I opted not to do the EVC and instead had a c-section mostly because he was measuring very long on the ultrasounds and the success rate was low for my situation. My October 2024 baby is again frank breech and my OB is refusing to do an EVC because the risk of my scar from baby 1 rupturing is too high. So for baby 2 I am scheduled for yet another c-section. I have tried everything in the books, on the internet, suggested by my OB, things friends have tried and had success with... My babies just like being frank breech. My OB is thinking it could have to do with the shape of my uterus. It makes me sad to think I will always be a c-section mama but at least my babies and I are safe and healthy.

I guess they suggest do good amount of walking…rest leave it on time for your last scan. All the best.

@Polina yes I do either prenatal yoga or walking . I spend atleast 1-2 hrs for my workouts. I also tried forward leaning position from past 2 weeks as it’s mentioned in the article you shared. I am scared as the days increases the baby weight grows and probability of spinning is how far can happen I am not sure . That’s why thinking of EVC. Doctor suggested if I have to evc it has to be this week itself

Mine turned a couple of times on her own between 30-36w so it was a real roller coaster. She was born at 38w and in the correct position
