I was induced at 39 weeks due to the baby being too being (turns out he was only 3.5 kg). Honestly? The worst experience of my life. I was in labour for 38 hours.. the pain was EXTREME. They’ve put the pessary in and checked me after 24 hours.. at that point I was 3cm. Just few hours after they’ve put it in , the pain of the contractions was unbearable. I took every single pain killer they gave me and still weren’t working. After two full days they took me upstairs to break my waters, then hormone drip and gave me an epidural. From there onwards everything was fine. Managed to have a vaginal birth. Good luck hun 🙏🏽❤️
It’s quite straight forward but the pain that comes with it I dunno if it’s would be bearable for you
However it doesn’t work at the same way for everyone. The ladies in the bed next to mine were at their second and still wasn’t working
The Pessary itself I didn’t find awful , it was more the examination and pain after it was removed. The pessary didn’t fully work but opened enough to just about allow my waters to be broken a few days later. I’ve heard horrendous things about the drip , so would say it’s not as bad as that
They admit you to the ward and then get your documentation ready and then later during your stay they insert the peasant and let the pessary do its work If you feeling severe contractions they let you sit in warm water bath or pool if your hospital has and then when you are getting dilated they move you to your Labour room and Labour starts
