Membrane sweep

I got mine done and that night i started early labor two days later i gave birth!

I had two, the second one send me to labor 3 days after But I believe that the curb walking helped too

I am currently 38 wks and had mine done on Friday (3 days ago) at 3cm dilated and 80% effaced…. Still in early labor (irregular contractions). 😭. Going to ask for another on my next appointment in 2 days…

I think it’s about 30% successful rate of going into labour after the sweep. The closer you’re to the due date, the better the chance. I believe second sweep has also better outcomes but could be because it’s closer to the due date. I got mine done at 39, took Tylenol before, def have some sort of a pad (I went with daily one) as you could be slightly bleeding, wasn’t painful, just uncomfortable and awkward 30 seconds of my life. Pains afterwards for 2-3 hours but stopped. Two days later, brown mucus plug and a lot of it. Contractions on and off with pains but nothing to write home about. Due on Thursday and will ask for another one on Friday

For reference at 39w I was 1cm, 70% effaced and head is engaged. First pregnancy

I had a membrane sweep and went into labor that afternoon. Had my baby that same night. 😂 so it was a win for me!

Update - had the membrane sweep at 9am on Tuesday. Ended up losing my mucus plug today (Wednesday) around 11am. Not having any contractions as of right now (11pm) but hopefully maybe I’ll start going into labor tomorrow or Friday 🤞🏼 my due date is Saturday and if he’s not here by this weekend then we are going to schedule induction for next Friday. Really hoping he comes before that though.
