Dummies

How many dummies should I have for a newborn? I think about 5-6 but my partner seems to think we only need 1 🤯!

Loads. They get lost all the time and you need clean ones whilst you sterilise others x

Yeh you'll need more than you think! They always seem to go missing 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’d get a few but not loads in case you don’t end up needing them. I bought loads and my first refused every single one of them.

I think we typically had around 6-8 as they get lost and when they’re wee they need constant washing etc too. As our daughter got older we just bought less. When she was around 10 months we stopped giving her dummies through the day and she only gets for naps/bed. We now have 2. One for her bag and one that stays in her room x

If you decide you do want to use them then you’ll want a few however some babies hate them/ reject them/ never want them so I wouldn’t waste too much money before you feel your baby needs one or not- they’re super accessible from supermarkets / Amazon etc so it won’t take too long to get hold of more

None 🤣🙈

As others have said you’ll need loads and especially as they need to be kept sterile etc. but my girl never took one which actually ended up being a blessing I think as didn’t have to take it away. So I wouldn’t buy anymore now and wait and see. With next day delivery on most things it’s easy to buy things as you go rather than spending loads on something you might not use. Especially when so many brands/styles/sizes.

5-6 is plenty. They may not take to a certain type. Can always buy them if you think you are running low. I never had dummies to start off with and we never lost any once we did. Our dog stole them 😂😂
