I don’t show my baby coco melon or any shows that are like coco melon. Something about coco melon puts me off. I recommend documentaries
My kids like Cocomelon. We limit screen time, we love nature, we read books, we play on playgrounds. I also put screen time on when I need to get something done. It’s about balance and seeing how your kids react and responding to it. If your child starts acting up or zoning out while watching it, then turn it off, if your child is normal then let them watch with a time limit.
You can show them cats and dog montages. Search for cats 8k for example and they will show lions etc synced to music
Not to cocomelon but to d billions on yt. I also have been struggling at meal time and used it as a way to eat. I have basically weened him off of it now and he only really watches his shows in the morning getting ready for school or if im really busy, but i prefer to put on movies instead of his shows
Mine only watched cocomelon and I’d read about the addiction thing but thought she was okay. Then one day she woke up and asked for cocomelon immediately. She hasn’t watched it since! 😅 So she watches Sesame Street now… think she’s less addicted, she doesn’t watch it in a trance like she does with cocomelon.
We cut off cocomelon when it was the first thing she asked for when she opened her eyes in the morning. I don't know if I'd go as far as to call it an addiction but it definitely wasn't healthy.
I think cocomelon is really overstimulating, if you're gonna let them have screen time maybe try something less?
My LO loves dancing fruit. We put that on and then nursery songs come on after it
She was like this with miss Rachel so I banned it because she’d have tantrums if I turned it off. After a couple days she was like a new baby so much happier
I never allowed Cocomelon in our house because I’d read it was overstimulating, but there are so many channels on YouTube that are just as bad, things like Little Angel. She turned into a zombie when these were on so we’ve just stopped letting her watch anything on YouTube now. Most of the shows on CBeebies are better but we try to limit screen time still.
Cocomelon is banned in our house and YouTube will be when older, but screens in general aren’t (you do what you have to do!). I’m a fan of most options on CBeebies; Duggee/Bluey/Sarah and Duck etc. If she turns into a zombie I decided it goes on the banned list basically. I also hate Peppa Pig but that might just be me 😅 We don’t do Miss Rachel either because UK based and don’t want her learning with an accent
100% yes my kids act addicted to electronics. I will not be letting my 3rd child and I'm so close to losing it and throwing away all the tvs in my house and selling the game systems.
Bluey is good. Dancing fruit zones my kid out.
we don’t watch it all of the time but we really like bluey, 1 because i enjoy watching it and 2 when i have things to do it’s just easier to put her in her swing and put it on so i can do stuff, also i don’t like cocomelon its overstimulating for me, i also like miss rachel

My son was obsessed with cocomelon. I now refuse to let him watch it. Occasionally he watches it at my parents but not at home
We don't watch cocomelon but she does like other shows. However she's not shown any problems (plays while watching, prefers going outside above all else, meeting/exceeding milestones, etc), but I think every child is different.
My son loves Cocomelon and watches the original and Cocomelon Lane. He has shown no issues. He can take it or leave it. He watches Blippi like an addict sometimes lol but he mostly can go days or a week or so without Cocomelon.
no cause i’ve banned it so my daughter will never watch it. i’m very picky about what she watches
Mine likes Color Crew and this other one with an annoying parrot called Larry, and Super Simple Songs that do my head in 😂She has it on intermittently throughout the day and normally when she’s eating.
TV can be addicting no matter what it is but because CoComelom is so fast moving and wild and there’s a lot going on, it’s overstimulating for a child and therefor can become more addicting. There are lots of shows that are slower that you can feel a little bit better about them watching. I’ll add a screenshot of good ones
Big fan of the wiggles it's not too overstimulating and has songs as well and all educational (and I watched it when I was little so I love it too). My Son's only 4 and a half months though so obviously not showing any signs of addiction to it but he does love a screen and will always be trying to look at it if he knows it there but that's just because he's nosy as anything 😅🤣
We don’t watch tv at all. Watching tv or distracting your baby while they eat is detrimental to their habits and will further issues for you both. They should be eating with you and focused on the meal. I would personally stop tv all together but at the very least during mealtimes. No one can see their child’s brain so anyone saying their child is showing no ill effects from watching cocomelon can’t actually state such. I follow what the experts say and they say that fast moving pictures with frantic music and changing scenes in under 3 seconds is harmful to their brain development.
Also it’s best for their development to do chores with you! My girl “helps” put laundry in the basket, or throw paper towels in the garbage can, or grab spoons from the dishwasher and hand them to me. Yes chores take longer but this is how they learn life skills and as they progress through toddlerhood it gives them a sense of self confidence when they successfully help you with something
I don’t let my kids watch anything that irritates me. Coco melon is extremely irritating.
my son loves cocomelon but not to the point it's that over everything else. He loves cars and everything becomes a "car" when he plays. mostly he likes cocomelon for the music. If i play alexa he's just as content.
I switched from cocomelon to super simple songs I find them less stimulating
My son was obsessed with his tablet til we took it away and only put it on the wall when he could watch something I sometimes put YouTube vids on as a treat and they can pick which songs so they like it lol
Mine is easily distracted but I started showing him books/flash cards at the table.. idk if that’s normal lol, but I figured it’s a little better than screen..
Mine used to watch it occasionally but it grated on me and was on for about 10 mins before I'd had enough. She is only allowed to watch cbeebies now or selected shows that I choose. I can't stand anything loud, irritating and reptitive like cocomelon so stuff like Bluey, octonauts, hey duggee etc sits better with me. You've done no damage, just ban it now and switch to calmer things 😅

@Jill dancing fruit zones ME out 😂😅
I feel like mine did seem "addicted" to cocomelon, but I don't believe they had bad behavior from it
2 programmes I refuse to have on. Peppa pig cos she's a little shit, and Bing cos he's a Whiny little sod 😂
I said no because I won’t let my children watch that creepy ass show. I’ve had friends and family say after they stopped letting their kids watch coco melon their kid(s) behaved a lot better.
Could be a coincidence but my sons behaviour is so much better when I stop him watching coco melon. But the days he has it on, he’s a little monkey! 😂
@Fi Bing is such a whiney ball bag, marginally better than Peppa though at least he’s not a brat
I only stan Bluey
@Madeleine haha Bing the ball bag 😂
I love Bluey. I actually enjoy the episodes
I think any screen for any age is addicting (talking adults too) he only watches tv if he’s sick.
Nah that was debunked anyway
