Activity Ideas

I WFH and have my 18m son home with me. It’s becoming increasingly challenging to keep him engaged during the day. He’s very clingy and only independently plays in short intervals. Need some more ideas of activities that will capture his attention. Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated! ❤️

I too am in the exact same situation and would love some suggestions! I am trying not to rely on tv as much as I can!

@Taylor same! I feel guilty relying on the TV but sometimes that’s all I can do because of work 🥲

Following this thread as I’m looking for ideas as well. But to also help with some ideas of our own, I just bought the boys a round of new toys that they seem to be enjoying. We bought a table and four chairs. The table is actually for medium sized legos, but I stashed those for when they’re more age appropriate. The boys have LOVED getting in and out of their new chairs and carrying them around the house. The table is also super versatile. Rather than spell it all out, here’s the link for it: https://a.co/d/3LnNUiD. We also just bought stacking cups for the first time, which I heard is good for this age group. They’re having so much fun stacking them both ways. Again, found an option that’s super versatile and also has a puzzle top for them to put a few included shapes into: https://a.co/d/4qhS3jo. I also recently bought colored construction paper for them to use a wet paintbrush with. It’s like painting, but clean :). Also bought markers that supposedly wash out of clothes well, plus

This is super helpful!!

…plus, two extra large easel pads that teachers use. I created a small space using some baby gates and covered the floor with two of those large paper pads and let them go to town with markers. :) hope all that helps someone with a few ideas. I felt our kids were getting bored with their toys, so went on a little bit of a buying spree. Their bday was in March, so that’s the last time they had gotten an influx of new things. And oh, last thing - a few pots, spatulas, and rubber whisks have gone a long way. They love pretend cooking, stirring, and tasting their “food.” It’s pretty cute.
