@Louise thank you for the reply 🙏
I didn't but my friend just had her second baby at home and said it was wonderful 😊 her fiance was really against the idea at first but after a talk with the midwife he was reassured.
Hi Maria, I was lucky enough to have a home birth and it was honestly the best labour I could have asked for. I was lucky as I had a community midwife who came to my house for all visits and was very pro-home birth if there were no increased risks. I hired a pool from the midwife team. The only slight downside was that my labour progressed quite quickly and then we couldn’t get hold of my midwife when I felt the need to push. Husband had car packed and running when she finally picked up the phone and came over (she only loved down the road) with the gas and air!! Overall, if you are interested definitely look into it but keep in mind that lots can change and mean you are no longer classed as ‘low risk’. I wouldn’t hesitate to have another if I was lucky enough. If you have any questions- feel free to message me.
I did with my my second daughter it was the most best experience ever to have it can be scary but it was worth it and special at the same time 🙂
I planned a home birth with my midwife team and laboured fully when the midwife got there I was ready to push but unfortunately didn’t progress quick enough so was taken into hospital in the ambulance but I would definitely love to try again with my second as I much preferred going through labour in the comfort of my own home! Xx
I had a homebirth. It was MAGICAL!
Not yet, but expecting baby 2 very soon (currently 37-38 weeks) and have a homebrith planned 🥰
I love my home birth. I also had a doula to add in that extra support which was really nice. She was here before the midwife. She was born on our bed and we just slept shortly after very magical
Thank you for all the replies, ladies 😊 For those of you who had a home birth at home for your 2nd one, was the oldest at home with you, or did you have someone looking after them elsewhere? X Thank you x
@Maria I plan to have my daughter at home (21 months), but if things become too much both mine and my husbands parents are on standby to come pick her up .. likewise with the dog 😂 I will have my sister as a birth partner too so hopefully between the 2 of them we'll manage. I know a lot of women labour overnight though as your body knows it's a 'safe' time, so hopefully she'll be tucked up in bed! 🤞 x
@Sîan this is my exact situation. My 21 month might be about, might be in bed. Apparently kids become quite sensitive to the situation are become intrigued and quiet when watching xx
I planned to have a home birth, but when my waters went, there was meconium so I wasn't allowed 😓 We have a dedicated home birthing team where I live (the Wirral) and honest to God, being under their care was the best choice I made in pregnancy. I don't plan on any more kids, but if I did, a would 100% plan a home birth again. Its just such a special thing to give birth somewhere that you're fully comfortable in, and the rate of intervention is so much lower at home. Even if its just a brief thought about having a homebirth, you should definitely look into what's available in your area and speak to one of the midwives 😊
