C-section LRI

Does anyone know if after a c-section your partner is aloud to stay with you over night ? LRI? I’ve heard they can but then I’ve heard they are not aloud

If anyone knows for LGH as well that would be helpful for me! 😅

@Alena they can stay until midnight then they have to go home, believe it’s the same at both hospitals

No

They are not allowed, I believe it’s a safeguarding issue with the ward

They have to leave at midnight and can come back at 8am 💕

Usually no, but I was allowed for him to stay with me due to me being autistic and needing extra help when vulnerable post op. I had to have special permission and it was discussed weeks and weeks before the c section date, I was also assigned private room for same reason but it is special accommodation for being autistic, Usually from what I'm aware you are not guaranteed private room and partners are kicked out at like 8-9pm

We had a section at 22:11 & my husband stayed with me in recovery. When I was moved to the ward at 3am ish he had to leave & was allowed to visit 9am till 9pm

They're not allowed, same with the general hospital and I believe the visiting hours are the same. Partners can be there from 8am to midnight

you’ve already gotten some answers but i just wanted to contribute, 6 months ago i had my LO at 9:55pm, partners are usually asked to leave around midnight on the ward so they made sure to keep me off the ward for as long as possible so i wouldn’t be alone in those first hours, but unfortunately for safeguarding once i was on the ward we had to follow visiting hours which other comments have already let you know is 9am-midnight

Thankyou all x

Usually no but I was a first time mum to twins at 18, I also had RSV at the time of my c section and didn’t have a partner so had my mum stay with me and they let her stay in with me as long as she was okay sleeping in a chair in my room. I think in special circumstances they’re a bit more lenient but usually it’s a no x

Sadly not allowed, my husband had to leave and come back in the morning, this was March 2023. So not sure if things have changed since then, all the best

No, they have to leave at midnight and come back at 6 or 8am x

No they’re not allowed stay. I had an emergency section and he was made to go home the first night. It was horrific, I had to get out of bed and get my little one because no one came when I buzzed. We ended up in a private room in the end because my baby had to have phototherapy done and I begged them to let him stay. I was in for 6 days total. They let him stay in the private room as long as he didn’t leave the room after 11 x

Hello, I was told at my NCT class yesterday that the rules have just changed in the last couple of weeks. Partners are now allowed to stay the night after the baby is born
