I had this and am now 4 months pp and it’s slowly gone down. Sorry to say but you’re almost guaranteed an overhang due to where the incision is. Mine is getting less and less and I’m starting to do some ab exercises it is reducing but I imagine it won’t go all the way.
My OB said no matter how much I work out, or how skinny I get, I’ll always have an overhang from the C-section. Only way to get rid of it is plastic surgery.
@Kaylah crying reading this at 3 weeks pp from a c section 😭
I know girls that have had c sections and have a completely flat stomach now? But didn’t know weather they was just lucky?
i know two women who have had c sections, they have a completely flat stomachs now, i just asked my friend about this and she said it definitely took encouragement with exercises - the other being my mother in law and she didn’t do much at all. i think it really depends on your body. try to be gentle with yourself, you did something so incredible ❤️
I had my daughter 11 years ago via C-section and my belly is still like jelly and I do have an overhang. I was told no amount of weight loss or exercise will change it, the only option would be surgery. Of course everyone is different, but that’s my experience and it’s the same for most C-section mums I know.
Scar massage after 6 weeks will help to reduce overhang as it is partly due to the healing on the scars inside your uterus which are above the outer incision.
I had a c-section a 19 months ago and it was jelly for good 4 months, breastfeeding helped a lot as I didn’t do ny abs or exercise but breastfeed all the way, I’ve got pregnant at 10 months after and when it happened my tummy was super flat! Couldn’t even notice the scar. Although I stopped sugar completely (just fruits and dates, coconut sugar, and honey and sirio) I think that helped too
I'm almost 2 weeks postpartum and having the same jelly esq belly! Don't have any idea if it is normal but thought I'd share I'm in the same boat!!
