@Gabi thank you 🥺🥹🤞🏻 I’m absolutely TERRIFIED in for the second time since last night at 40+1 so they’ve taken it on to induce me!! Just had a shower and trying to relax before they do a cervical check xx
I got induced too recently , I definitely would focus on the fact you get to meet baby sooner- try not to worry about the rest you got this ❤️❤️us women were made to do this you will be absolutely fine and smash it regardless of what sort of birth you have it won't matter once you meet your little girl or guy 🥹good luck!🙏❤️
@Evie Everything will be ok! You are in good hands of trained professionals who are helping to birth babies daily 😊🙌🏼 Try to relax and breathe. Read some positive birth stories. If you go on Bump to baby chapter website she is a uk midwife and got many positive induction and positive c section stories there.
I got induced on 14/9/24, I was excited that i was finally going to meet baby. The hospitals preferred method of induction was dilapan, (the small rods inserted into the cervix to absorb liquid therefore helping to expand) had to be be kept in for 15 hours then they would check it then remove it. For myself and the other lady that was being induced, this method failed for both of us. Prior to getting the rods inserted, I was already 1cm. A midwife explained that my waters could be potentially be broken and I agreed to it, 6 am waters were broken. By 11am I had started feeling period like pains and decided to go for a walk. By 2pm contractions were getting closer together and I had to go on the hormone drip, by 4pm contractions were close enough together and regular to officially say that labour had started, met baby girl at 6 am. So wasn’t exactly planned out how the doctors and I expected but baby girl was born healthy on 15/09/24 ❤️❤️
i had a gorgeous induction experience with my first, pessary was inserted at 10:30am when i was 1cm dilated, i had an outpatient induction so went home with cramps. contractions started around 4pm, carried on with my day, went to the shop etc. contractions got intense around 9/10pm, got to hospital for 11:30pm and was 8cm dilated. the rest is a bit of a blur, i know my waters broke on their own at some point and baby was born at 2:57am. i only had gas and air, and despite not really wanting an induction (but deciding it was medically the best thing for us) i truly had an amazing birth experience. good luck!!
Mine was a great experience, labour was easier and quicker than my first water birth tbh (30 hours vs 8 hours of labour). Had the pessary in and was allowed to go home as an outpatient. Fell asleep for a while and waters started to break at 4am. Went back in, they broke the rest of my waters and I was having contractions. Went to the midwife led unit. They were going to assess my progress after 6 hours of my waters being broken, but baby was born just before then at midday. I wrote detailed birth preferences for induction and active labour which I left in my notes, and all the midwives read them, which helped. Also remember that induction etc is just an offer, you can choose to have your birth how you want it. Good luck x
I don’t have an induction story as I went naturally but just commenting to say best of luck and I hope everything goes well with you and your little one! 🤍
Thank you guys for all the encouragement!! Currently 23 hours into induction!! Had the 24 hour pessery inserted at 12:50 last night and started getting back ache at around 5am at 10am I started contracting a little bit and then they wore off with co codamol and sleep. At 4pm I had contractions again back to back and was sick so given an anti sickness jab! Took a warm bath and they subsided and I ate dinner had a nap. No contractions since and in an hour I get a cervical exam again to see how the pessary is doing! If all is well tomorrow morning I should have my waters broken and an hour of pitocin drip with no pain relief to establish regular contractions (this I’m very nervous for) after they’ve become regular I’ll be allowed pain relief (I’m praying for an epidural) and hopefully it’ll be delivery time!! Induction is definitely different to how I thought as I read so many people going quickly but at my hospital it’s a 24 hour propes pessary they use to induce you xx
Milions did it before you, milions will after you. Thousands labouring at the same time with you ✨️✨️🪄 Feel the energy. You've got this ❤️
