Getting to the airport

We’re going on a family vacation and I had completely forgotten that we’d need to get to and from the airport! Don’t want the LO waiting around after a long flight so was wondering how other people managed travelling to and from the airport?

Drive so you can use own car seat!

Taxi

We usually drive so we know we have our own car seats, but otherwise a taxi. Before we had kids we used to take the airport shuttle bus.

We've booked valet parking at Gatwick. Cost wise it wasn't significantly more than their long stay on site (but need to get a shuttle bus) parking and will 1000% be worth it at 4am when we step out of the terminal and don't then have to wait for a shuttle bus etc.

Drove - much easier with car seats and we could go in our own time etc

We drove (Gatwick) and parked our car at one of their trusted long stay car parks, then got the shuttle bus to the airport (5 mins).

We usually drive and park at the airport carpark now we have the little one x

We booked a taxi with a car seat.

We always drive and do the meet and greet ( you literally drop the car and walk 2 mins across the road to departures). Its been surprisingly cheaper than getting the shuttle and so much easier. We paid £92 for meet and greet however the shuttle option was £130. Bonkers Look around for airport parking deals with Looking4Parking.com I always find if i leave it in my basket and exit they always send a discount code. Also blue light card holders get discounts AMG and Sure parking at Gatwick were amazing.

We have done a mix of driving and parking at the airport and/or arranging an airport transfer. We use a local company who provide a car seat and we’ve always had a great experience with them x
