I had a very slow and painful early labour with my 1st baby, they gave me codine and paracetamol at the hospital but I found having a sweep helped me progress quicker, not sure if this is an option for you. I know it sounds silly but also try to make your body relax as much as possible as this will make things happier quicker, keep calling if you feel like you can’t cope with the pain xx
Sorry about that. That sounds like a horrible hospital. My midwife told me yesterday that if in early labour and they don't offer a hospital bed, I can have oromorph and go home. So ask about it Xx
I got given codiene at the hospital but wasn’t allowed any to take home I’m had a hot bath and taking cocordamol and been on my birthing ball but I can’t handle it anymore, really feel like giving up now 😞
Try to breathe properly. Focus on long slow deep breaths or if not long at least slow and deep.
I used a tens machine, comb pressing into my hand and my husband was applying counter pressure to my lower back. We did this for hours overnight every 5 mins 😭 it’s really really tough going! I know it’s now night but I think curb walking helped me x
3 days sounds long and uncomfortable. You can request whatever birth you like. So if you wanted to request an induction or c section, you can ask to speak to a Dr to discuss the risks/benefits etc
Hope you are doing okay?? Xx
@Kirsty still no baby and I am in so much pain!! Got to ring up at 9 o’clock to book in for induction but I might just go sooner as I need pain relief xxx
That’s rubbish! Hopefully you are both doing okay now. Xx
Bless you 😣. Did triage give you any advice on what you can do? I didn’t go through natural labour but through birth classes they recommended having a warm bath, paracetamol, massages, distraction with a film or something. I know with my endometriosis which can cause horrendous cramps heat really helps, so maybe a warm compress or bath could possibly help. But need to check if you can have hot products if you are in labour. I would keep calling triage if nothing improves in a couple of hours and insist that they help! Just keep reminding yourself that you will be a mother soon and it will all be worth it! Every pain brings you closer to meeting them! You have got this and are doing an incredible job! Xxx
