Nope! I’ve called all the dentists in my local area and none of them are taking NHS patients anymore - so all of my check ups are private, but if I need emergency dental care I’ll call 111 and then you can normally get a one off NHS appointment - likely somewhere else but at least it’s NHS prices and we should be able to use our exemption certificate. So frustrating isn’t it - I hope you manage to find somewhere!
Omg so frustrating! I live in Essex and have managed to get a dentist now but it’s crazy that they’ll neglecting NHS patients, especially pregnant!
Nope!
I got an NHS dentist before I was pregnant but it was no means easy! This is what I did: -Used the nhs website to find a list of all ‘local’ dentists. Worth noting that many of these were a good few miles away. - I then went through the list and called each and everyone and asked if they were accepting Nhs dentists. Out of about 15, one was but there was a 2 month waiting list which I signed up for. - You have to be very vigilant responding to any communication from them / making your first appointment because it you miss it you can go to the bottom of the list again. It’s a real slog but if you’re persistent hopefully you’ll find one!
I've had my current Dentist since my last pregnancy there was a bit of a wait to get an appointment though and I've seen them once this pregnancy and due to see them again closer to due date.
Have you joined any waiting lists? I had to join a few but ended up getting a call back after a few weeks to get signed up with my partner and 2 years old
