Screen time a Nursery

My LO nursery said they are allowed to have screen time playing 'educational videos' to the children at nursery. I think this is so cheeky especially with the high price we pay for nursery, why are they watching YouTube! I am mad cos I notice my LO is very familiar with the sounds of Ms Rachel and it makes me think how long is she watching this for at nursery. Does your LO nursery allow screen time? I am going to have a discussion about it but need to prepare myself.

Wow I’d be livid!! That’s so out of order in my opinion.

I found out when my girl switched into the toddler room that they watch elmo by her asking to watch it at home. I had no clue they did that either. But I'm not a stickler about screen time, so it doesn't bother me. I guess I just didn't expect daycare to do it. I also never asked if they incorporate it. But now we know! Ask if it's an issue for you.

Am not necessary against screen time. I just feel for the high price we pay to drop our kids To Nursery, there should be more for the kids to do.

I think it can create a sense of balance. Maybe they're throwing the tv on after meals while some kids are still eating and others have finished? Idk, it's not on all day, I'm sure it's controlled and minimal and they have free range to do othet things if there's no interest in the tv. There's literally only so much that you can do in a 8-10hr day with a toddler. It's a good break between all of the learning, playing and exploring, IMO.

My daughter’s nursery put on a short Christmas movie on at Christmas Eve for the older children to listen to and that was all! The don’t even have anything to show them videos on
