Do you also have gas/bloating pain? I remember when I got my c section my biggest pain was the gas! It was excruciating! I tried not to take the opioid only on like day 2 but after that I alternated Motrin and Tylenol around the clock! As far as the pressure on ur bum it could be because of an epidural if you got one.. I got and epidural and that pain took a few weeks to start relieving.. mostly try to constantly reposition yourself before you feel the pain coming on and try to sit in a way where you’re not applying pressure to ur tailbone, it’ll get better soon mama ❤️

@Julie yes!! that’s what i’m convinced the upper back pain is. it’s so gross because i can feel the gas moving around my body and yeah i had an epidural and then a spinal block on top of that😅 even sitting in bed it annoys me. i’m getting no sleep elevated either. but thank you beautiful 🩷🩷

@Cody I was on stool softeners for days to help go to the bathroom and so let out as much of that gas as possible because that pain was insane! So I’m sure that’s what it is too! And yes it’s from the epidural! The pain creeps up to your tailbone and it hurts to even move afterwards 😩 unfortunately I was never able to do anything to help with that just kind of constantly reposition myself 😩 but it does go away!! 😭

My legs also swelled up soooo much that the swelling caused pain in my feet and I had to constantly keep them elevated to help relieve the pain! Apparently it’s a side effect from the epidural and all the IV’s the pump you with but I didn’t start to feel it til I went home on like day 5 😩

@Julie my legs were swollen anyway but i’ve noticed my feet are so tight!!!

For the trapped wind pain try peppermint tea! Not sure how it helps but it’s recommended by c-sectionuk ☕️ 🩵

Drink peppermint tea for the gas. Sounds weird but it works! I had the worse pain in my shoulder and drinking the tea eased it

I put lots of pillows behind me when sitting so I was almost half way between sitting and lying down. Easier said then done with a newborn but rest makes a huge difference so try and ask for help. I'm notoriously terrible with this but I would ask my OH to watch the baby or cuddle the baby whilst I slept for a bit.

No advice but here to say I’ve been there and I feel you 🥲 I took dihydrocodiene and paracetamol and ibuprofen on the clock and it took a couple of weeks but it got easier 🩵 also used compression socks for the swelling in my legs which started a few days in xx

Peppermint tea and chewing gum is meant to help xx

Just been through this myself! Peppermint tea works wonders. If you sit on the toilet or squat you’ll find it easier to pass the wind. I felt like I needed to pass wind but I couldn’t because my stomach muscles were not working squatting helps massively x

thank you all so much!! definitely going to look into peppermint tea xx

I am currently 2 weeks pp emergency c section and can confirm it does get better - the first week is absolutely the hardest - keep taking all your meds, injections etc if given and try be mobile a little bit each hour as I found moving helped more than sitting around. It’s a long road but look after yourself x

@Carla i just feel so useless 😅i’ve been trying my best to move around and be mobile but sometime the pain just gets to me. any advice on how to clean the area? i can’t cling to get into the shower or the bath so now i’ve been using warm water in a spray bottle and leaving it to dry. i’m so nervous!! xx

I have a little infection in my wound which has been picked up today and the midwife has told me to boil a kettle and pour some boiled water into a bowl (I was originally just using warm tap water) let it cool slightly before putting on the wound. Use a flannel or sponge and clean the area with that and then pat dry with a towel then let it breathe after for about half hour. She said letting it breathe is so important as nothing heals without air getting to it and I wasn’t doing this xx
