C section recovery

Hi mamas, a good friend of mine just gave birth via emergency c section. I want to bring her some things that could be helpful or comforting during her recovery. I had a vaginal birth so I know which products were great for me, but I’m not sure if they would apply for a c section recovery. Also, are there any foods that you can’t eat while recovering or any foods that were particularly comforting and nourishing during your recovery?

Food, always! Any home cooked meals you can put straight in the oven or something sweet like a crumble 🥰

Baggy pyjamas!!! X

The Frida mom postpartum disposable underwear are super comfortable and convenient, I just had a scheduled C-section on 20th and still using them, they don’t rub against incision even after getting the bandage removed..also heat/ice packs really help with pain

Heat/ ice packs and any foods are good, maybe some help with household chores. Does she have anyone to drive her to appointments and such in the first few weeks? Because driving is not advised for the first 2 weeks or as long as she is on strong pain meds like oxycodone.

This is so sweet of you! 💗 Just thinking of her will be a gift in it self. Heating pad really helped my recovery. Baggy comfy pajamas, heated blanket, food that she can reheat, high rise undies, abdominal binder, compression socks, and a nursing pillow to help with holding the baby 💗

Loose comfy PJ’s, face mask, paracetamol/ibuprofen, chocolate, sweets (anything that she likes etc) x

How sweet! I didn’t really need anything special after my section but company is appreciated, some cooked food and help around the house. Self care stuff like facemasks and cups of tea work xx

Soup, porridge any home cooked meal is ideal. Help around the house is what she will need most especially if she doesn't have anyone around. Especially doing laundry!
