4-6 weeks. If you drive from 4 weeks you ‘should’ speak to your insurance company. Obviously if you don’t and anything happens when driving within the 2 weeks, this is when it would be an issue. So up to you x
insurance said I could drive as long as I had a note from drs. Drs said as long as I could drive comfortably and do an emergency stop I was fine but it shouldn’t be before two weeks. So I drove from 2 weeks xx
My insurance said I didn’t have to tell them and that I just need to be able to perform an emergency stop and that my midwife has said I can but I don’t have to let them know
I started driving again at about 3 weeks, didn’t even bother with contacting insurance company. I was in the same boat, so many appointments plus the school runs, so was only really driving short distances and had no issues x
My midwife said I can drive as long as I feel okay to do so and my insurer has no rules around it, just says as long as you feel fit and well. I'm 3 weeks post c-section and still feel a little wary of the seat belt on my incision site so I think I'll personally give it another week.
I drove from 15 days, my insurance doesn’t have any rules on timescales etc. my midwife also said it’s safe to when you feel ready x
Thanks all, I feel no pain at all and my incision was basically fully healed by 1 week PP. midwife signed me off straight away and discharged me as was so shocked how well I was doing. I’m 15 days post partum and feel fantastic 😂😂 seatbelt doesn’t bother me and I’ve been itching to be able to go out on my own even just a 10 min drive down the road. I’ll get onto my insurance tomorrow as would hate for anything to happen. Xx
My insurance said check with Dr and Dr said check with insurance. I had a cat 2 emergency C-section on the 20th and same as you other than the scar across my tummy I feel completely normal 😅 Yesterday I went for a test drive round the block and today I drove to our midwife appointment. I think as long as you feel okay and there's nothing specific in your insurance just take it slow ☺️
I was told 6 weeks but if I feel up for it I can from 4 weeks. You just have to be able to confidently perform an emergency stop. Not sure if you have to speak to your insurance?
