The shakes?

Looking at a scheduled c section. Did anyone have a c section and not get the shakes? It seems like everyone I know had the shakes really bad and I’m just wondering if that’s always the case. Thanks!

i didn’t get the shakes, i was just nauseas and very out of it that made me very sleepy x

No shakes. Just felt drugged up after of course

I did with my first but it was an emergency c-section after 5 days of induction & labor. Second was planned and didn’t get them at all

Did with my first, didn’t with my second.

I hadn't heard of this. I didn't and had both an emergency and planned section.

i didn’t get any shakes

I don't remember them with my second

I only got the shakes after my first csection which was an emergency. My epidural failed during the section and I was given a bunch of medication to try and help. My two planned csection I didn't experience any shaking. I was fairly itchy after this most recent one.

I didn't get the shakes at all.

I did with my first caesarean but 2nd one had no shakes

I didn't for 2 of them, I had last one because they used different medication in the epidural. I also vomited. They had to put me in a heating blanket, I can't remember what it is called but it took a long time to warm up and feel better. They gave me antisickness etc to help with it as well.

Had the shakes my first time, not my second

This is encouraging! Thanks for sharing your experiences!

I didn’t get the shakes. I felt really cold afterwards but I didn’t shake x

i had the shakes and they told me to bite down on my tongue and for some reason that helped lol

I did but it wasn’t uncomfortable- I could see that I was shaking but I didn’t really feel like I was shaking . . . It was surreal more than unpleasant

I had a planned C-section with a spinal block and I had the shakes after. It really wasn’t too bad though.

@Rachel I’ve been reading about how cold you can get. Do they do anything to heat you up after?

No idea what you’re talking about. C section here and no shakes

With my emergency section it was pretty bad, this time round (elective) wasnt so bad... I got told its a normal reaction to the stuff you get injected with🤔

No shakes for planned I did with emergency section but I had epidural in my system for around 12 hours

No shakes here

I had the shakes, from memory I think it’s because I felt ice cold. My teeth were clattering

No, I just wrapped myself in all the blankets at the hospital and it wore off after a few hours x

I did not have the shakes but I was itchy like crazy all over for like 4 weeks…

I had the shakes but only a little and was for a really short time. It was more like cold shivers then proper shakes x

I didn’t get the shakes. I do remember being hot rather than cold though! Luckily I had packed a buggy fan which I ended up strapping to the bed lol.

I didn’t have the shakes.

I did with my first (emergency) but not with my second (elective). Had the spinal for both!

No shakes for my two c sections but extremely itchy!

I didn’t have the shakes x

I got the shakes really badly BUT i also had to have both the blood pressure increase AND decrease medication in my pump while i was on the table cause my BP was all over the shop and those meds are the big reason for the shakes. If my bp had stayed stable i likely wouldnt have had the same issue but it would tank so they would up the epi, but then spike so they would up the norepi, and then it would tank so it was really a rinse and repeat😅
