Mucus poo

How often is a mucus poo a normal thing? I know it can be completely normal to have it every now and again but when should I be worried and what can it be?

Are we talking about you or a baby?

Can be a sign of allergies

@Pamela Noelle My baby he is just over 16 weeks and formula fed. I don't know whether that makes a difference

@Cesca have you had any experience with this? Just wondering other symptoms?

That was my next question because breastfed baby’s poop is more mucusy but formula fed baby will have a more soft consistency. I would call your pediatrician or baby’s doctor and just ask. It could be a lil tummy virus.

Yes, allergy symptoms can include (usually a combination but not always all of them): mucusy poops, green poops, extensive hiccups, congestion, uncomfy/windy/tricky to settle, rashes and eczema. Im sure there are others ive forgotten. Some also have blood in their poop - my little girl never had that though

Thank you ladies 😊
