Prep machine

Hi I'm currently pregnant with my first and due 5th Jan, I have planned to formula feed due to my own mental health i don't think I could cope breastfeeding. I've heard mixed reviews on prep machines I know midwifes don't recommend them but feel like they would be a lifesaver especially during the night. Have people have good/bad experiences with them and would you recommend one

We love ours, saves loads of time!

We loved ours! Massive timesaver! X

Love ours and takes so much stress away.. my babies never had any tummy problems

Prep machines are the best if you bottle feed. I'd recommend testing the hot shot to ensure its hot enough. Also keep up with cleaning etc. I honestly think it was the best baby item i bought.

Loved it, used from newborn to 11 months xx

Loved it with my first- no issues It hospitalised my son at 2 weeks old. I will never ever ever recommend one to anyone ever again!😭😭 Ended up swapping to buggy rapid cool hot shot method!

I tried it with my first but trying nuby rapidcool this time around as that is recommended by the nhs

Love mine! One of the best things I bought! I keep it upstairs and use for night feeds. In the day I just make a couple at a time using kettle and keep in fridge and use a bottle warmer to heat up.

We love ours and when I told the health visitor we had bought one she said whilst the NHS doesn’t recommend them, she used it with her grandchild and as long as you change the filter every 3 months, even if the light doesn’t show, it should be okay x

I think it depends if you have a refluxy baby. It can make reflux worse.

I personally don’t trust them. I use nuby rapid cools and love them! I have 2 so can cycle and not be in a huge rush to clean and sterilse

We used the prep machine with our first but he suffered with really bad reflux, which alot of people say this machine can cause, so on our next baby we have decided not to use it

OMG 😲

I brought one, used for a few weeks and gave my LG really bad gas. She was so uncomfortable! We used the nuby rapid cool after and would 100% recommend, can be used on the go aswell! X

I hated my prep machine but loved my nuby rapid cools and the ready to drink milks are a game changer for night feeds

Lifesaver! Don’t know why you wouldn’t use it tbh. We have no issues we just change filter every 3 months as recommended and if you don’t use it for a few days just run a clean cycle x

Why is it not recommended by nhs?

Why do the NHS not recommend them? What's the nuby rapid cool hot shot method?

I’ve got one. I used it while my LG was younger but stopped as it made her a bit more sicky and had wind. However, once she got over the ‘colicky stage’ (after about 12 weeks) I’ve been using it again and she’s so much better with it. I constantly clean it and make sure the filter is new every 3 months. My little girl is 5.5 months old now x

Loved it till I opened the back and it was full of mould despite cleaning it as recommended !

My midwife told me the NHS don't recommend as you can't clean the tubes properly

Loved mines!life saver!makes feeding so much easier!No issues

I loved my prep machine .. best thing ever !

Get a nuby rapid cool the baby milk is ready and at the right temperature under 3 minutes me and my husband used a rapid cool for our 2 weeks old baby. They are excellent well worth the money

@Lindsey huh

@Emily 😄😄😄😄

@Chelsea really

They can’t recommend them on the nhs as they can’t guarantee the hot shot temperature. Was a game changer for us and once keeping on top of filters and cleaning there is no issues.

Absolutely loved mine, it was a life saver

Used it last time going to use it again x

I’ve heard really good things about the prep machines but I thought it seemed like you still had to do quite a lot (measure scoops out ect) we went for the baby brezza formula pro and I can honestly say it’s my number one baby buy. It’s a bit pricey but worth every penny

We love ours saves so much time and it’s amazing on a night we take it to the bedroom so we don’t have to come downstairs

We had a prep machine at first, however then we found the Nuby Rapid cool and it’s been a life saver for us. It’s great for when out and about but even during the night, we used to boil the kettle, fill a thermos flask, take that up to bed with formula pre measured into bottles and the rapid cool and you’re good to go!! When we first got our little one home, we used to tag team in the night - one go put the kettle on, wait for it to cool and run it under the tap before the other one fed. It was so ridiculous we laugh looking back - the things we do!!! The only thing I’d suggest is especially in the first few months, buy 2/3 if you can afford to as they take a while to reset before u can use again x

I had one & never used it once, waste of money xx

Loved it. 100% Would use again if I had anymore. Best thing I bought

We love ours. Be lost without it. You can only use it from 4oz though so when baby is first born we did the kettle (hot shot method) and topped up with cooled boiled water x

the midwives in hospital were talking to the women next to us after having our babygirl and they told her although prep machines are handy, they’re not advised to be used due to hidden bacteria xx

It saved my life, honestly having a bottle ready in 2 mins was a dream, especially in the night! We used pre made until he was on 4oz xx

Wouldn’t be without it!

I like mine, I only used it at night and had it set up in the room so I could have it made by the time I’d finished the nappy change. Swirl the milk after the hotshot, don’t shake

I invested in the baby brezza this was an absolute game changer

We love ours!

Loved mine. Couldn’t have done it without it

It was a life saver with our son. He went from happy to hungry in about 3 seconds. I know they aren't recommended but we didn't have any problems with ours. I'm bf our daughter but 100% would use it again if we needed to

I didn’t bother with one. I bring the bottles up with the cooled boiled water in ready, then use a nulile bottle steamer to warm it back up in the night which I have on my bedside table. Only takes a couple mins x
