For my now 2.5 yr old: What worked for us was to take the flushing part off. We put books on the back part instead. We casually introduced the potty by having it in the bathroom and putting him on it before bath. Sometimes it was a struggle and I just let it go. When we were ready to seriously potty train (he was about 28 months) we followed the "Oh Crap!" Potty training method. It worked great for us 😊.
