Any advice moms?

Hi, My 6 month old doesn’t want to eat much formula and every time I feed him he would have like 30 ml (he has hike 90ml sometimes too) and then refuse having anymore. I went to the gp and the doctor said to change the formula, from aptamil to Kendamil. He’s still not eating as much as he should be eating for his age. I have to mention I started weaning and giving him a meal a day. Did anyone else experienced this ?

Not much advice here hut just wanted to say that Kendamil keeps having a huge shortage. I don’t use it personally as it made my baby chuck as it was so heavy. I’m in London and lots of pages keep posting about the shortage issue??

Has it only been since you started weaning? If so, cut back on his food and offer more milk feeds. Milk should be his main source of nutrition until 1, so he needs to focus on that over food.

@Jordan he’s done it before but it’s gotten worse since I’ve started weaning. I don’t get how he is full after 30 ml since he’s not had milk for a few hours !? I will probably stop giving him food as it was only a meal a day and a few snacks now and then

Any recommendations for a better formula ? Xx

I am shocked a doctor told you to move from aptamil to Kendamil 🤷‍♀️ most will tell you they’re all the same, except for some are organic / goats milk and then of course there’s prescribed milk. But “ordinary” whole milk formula is much the same. I started my baby on Kendamil because I heard great things and it’s been amazing for us. I’d ring your HV for advice, because personally I don’t think switching formula is going to make a difference and may just upset baby’s tummy. Do you offer the meal before or after milk? Food is just for “fun” so id personally only offer food after a bottle especially in this case. No real advice on what to do though sorry, I hope you can get some answers as it must be stressful x

@Denisa that’s a lot for a 6m old so yeah, definitely cut back the food. At 6m they should only be having tastes of food, not full meals. That will come as time goes on, definitely not yet.
