Sounds like my 8 year old. I’m Constantly having her friends come over and that’s still not enough. I even just bought a giant playset for the backyard that seems to helping for now
It’s good for children to get bored. That’s where creativity, problem solving, self soothing skills come from. I know we want our children to have fun childhoods but we also have to let them practice for adulthood. You are not an entertainment system. She has options. It might help for you to have a schedule. Maybe after school homework. Dinner. Then a certain amount of time to play together. The rest of the time, she has to entertain herself. Boredom is a great thing for children. Don’t be afraid of it
I just hearing “im bored”
@Becky its like nails on a chalkboard 😐😭
@Lativa you're so right and before my youngest I didnt care, but now it just irkes my entire soul. You're so right! Thank you so much
@Crystal she actually does like books, but she doesn't have discipline to sit and just READ/comprehend it all. Working on her comprehension 🥹💗. Thanks for the input
Sound like a similar situation to mind, but my 8 y/o just has lots of crafts materials to keep her busy, bc we limit electronics to only 30min a day. So have lots of mixed media paper, colors, scissors ✂️, if your kid is crafty, also books and magnetic titles. I have my girl on piano and gymnastics 🏋🏽♀️, but other days I just take her to playgrounds and libraries. Tbh I think my kid has Autism, so she needs a lot of movement and stimming ways to get her energy out. I also have a 22 month baby, and I'm 29 weeks pregnant 🤰🏽 So, I'm always exhausted 😩 every day
My 8 yo is in competitive soccer and he Never has time to be bored since we’re always training
I’m there a lot with my daughter. I take them outside ALOT which helps
That's all I hear from my 8 year old ,ideas please I get stressed out when I realized 3 pm is approaching meaning he will be back soon to the house and I have to come up with ideas
@Tania I've been keeping her busy with books and writing assignments (got a low grade in LA Writing). That's been working. I got some sight word matching cards n really pushing her to read, practice spell and writing. That and her baby sister have saved me last few days. Does your son like learning new things??
My son is very artsy he likes to draw and make things
Following!
@Lativa i agree with this!! But also, make sure that you do sirens some time playing with her, no matter how tired you are. She craves your attention, too! So not all the time, but make time for it. I take time to sit and read with mine cause she's a reader, but trust me, i understand how hard it can be to motivate yourself to get up and do physical things sometimes (ie: actively be on the playground instead of watching from the side while she plays)

My daughter is in Cheer and when she tells me that she is bored, I’m always like go stretch! I told her if she can get her side split to the floor before me, she can get a pedicure with me. She also wanted to do violin so I tell her to go practice that too.
My son reads a lot
