@Cait thank you! Did it take long for your little one to get used to it? Ik it'll be different for everyone but am just hoping to gauge a rough guess really
@Emily she is 5 months now and still poos in her nappy. It’s hard because she doesn’t always poo at the same time each day and it’s and hard to catch when you are out and about etc 😂 but the real concept I’m trying to teach is pooing with no pants on! I guess it’s strange we teach our kids to poo themselves and then one day we turn around and are like “no don’t do that” so that’s what I’m trying to avoid. Just normalising the idea of not pooing yourself 😂
Nope not even thinking about it until feb/March at the earliest We have a holiday booked for January and I don't want to be adding to the stress by attempting to potty train a then 20m old
We introduced potty at Christmas last year, first thing in the morning and before bath. She is a morning pooper, so that helped, within days she was using it. For over a month now she's been dry at night, so we go right away and we've tried actual potty training in Sept while at my mum's and it was going good, but when we got home, she doesn't wanna go. As mentioned above, she started to make sound before poop and sometimes will do that before wee, so we go potty then. Will give it another shot soon with 'proper' potty training, right now not having to clean poopy diapers works amazingly!
Hi Emily! My little girl makes a very distinct face and noise when she’s about to poo, so that’s the best way of starting. Or if they have a specific time of day to go poo. My best advice I’ve found is start with poo and wee will follow. I try placing my LO on the potty when she pulls her ‘poo face’. Be prepared for it to get very messy as you will have a few misses 😂
