My daughter has been holding in everything in her mouth without swallowing for a few months. She will hold it in her mouth for as long as possible, which can last to 2 hours. It doesn’t matter what it is, water, chocolate, juice, ice cream, whatever. We have worked with behavioral therapist for it and have not found a reason or solution to it. She will eventually just spit it all over herself when we beg her to swallow it, then cry. Idk what to do.

Girl fr 😩😩 2 hrs ?! My daughter will just laugh and then swallow and spit out the rest lol like it’s a game or put gummies in her mouth and then won’t eat it ! I’m like girl what is going on with you? Lol these toddlers different

@Amanda my daughter doesn’t find humor in it, she just does it almost like she feels she has to, like a sensory thing. Idk. I’m going insane though

@Kaitlin aww! Maybe she’s scared to swallow? Did she have a bad experience with eating ?

My son does it too

@Calynn lol I wonder why their doing that

My son does it as well. Sometimes he swishes it around in his mouth, so I wonder if it's a sensory thing, like "oh, this is a new feeling". The thing that irks me lately is when he's nearly done eating he'll just shove all his food into his mouth like a squirrel!

@Jamie lol it might be a sensory thing. She’ll hold it and then at the end she’ll spit it out and it goes everywhere. Idk what this child does half the time 😂

@Amanda I think it’s probably normal development my older two do it sometimes too
