Help. I don't know what to do anymore. My baby is fussing. She's putting her hand to her mouth but will not take the bottle

She keeps getting more fussy when I try to give her the bottle. It's just after midnight. I've tried burping her and rubbing her tummy for gas. I don't know what to do. She's seems to be queuing for food but not taking it. She even screams sometimes. This is new behavior, she's 9 weeks.

Oh no - this sounds awful for you, and I can see you are worrying. I don’t have a lot of advice, but maybe check over her body in case she has any hairs twisted around fingers / toes? Check her temperature and see if she’s warm, and maybe try change her environment and see if that helps to settle her, once settled she may take the bottle. X

@Tash Thank you I'll try to cha ge the environment as everything seems normal 😔 this is hard, upsetting, and frustrating. Just when I thought I knew her I no longer know what to do

I’m a few weeks ahead of you and my baby did something similar too at 9 weeks. 🩷 it’s so tough! They change things up on us the moment we think we have it figured out! 😫 I think mine was just overly tired at the time!

It could be wind. Just keep trying x

Thank you all! She seems to have finally settled but her behavior is still a bit of a mystery. Hopefully just wing like Katie said. Thanks again for all your support

I've been told that that is the witching hour for babies... when the fussiness is most likely. My newborn seems to do this too around 11pm/ midnight every night

It could just be a leap. Every few weeks they have basically a brain development and they're unsettled for no reason. It passes.

Mine is 2weeks old and very fussy around 11 to 1am before she settles and give us some time to sleep. Try to feed her before the crying start. Also, if that help, my baby hate some sort of bottles and she gets really mad when i use the anti gas bottles and scream until she becomes so red. So try a different bottle and see if she accept it.

@Feriel She's been on these bottles since after birth and the LC said these are the best bottles and most like the nipple. She also eats and eats before bed so she already ate a lot so shes already been fed before she gets like this :( I gave her the breast and it seemed to calm her down but it still took a bit. She's always been witching between 9/10pm to 2/3am but the extreme fussing is new. Thanks for your input though!
