Son calls me "ba" instead of "ma"

Does anyone else's child call them something other than the typical mom, mama, mommy and you don't know why? He's 14months and when we talk about names and I point to him and say his name he giggles or point to his dad and say "dada" he repeats it but when I point to myself and say "mama" he says no shakes his head no and says "ba"... When my husband called me "mama" earlier today my son said no shook his head no said "ba" and my husband joked "what no that's mama" and my son actually got upset and started to cry while shaking his head and saying "no" "ba"

He could be saying it just pronouncing differently. My son says dads but he can’t pronounce it great so he says gaga

When we day the thing he’s trying to say but it’s different he gets mad at us too

I wldnt worry to much Kids understand and prounce things differently My nephew made up his own words for certain things For one example my name is DIANA ( aunt) he'd say DEE DEE Or say ZIA instead of her name other aunt If you corrected him he'd get upset Just keep saying who you are " mummy" And " ba" will become " ma" Or mummy or what ever pet name you give yourself My son said our dogs name before mine !

My little girl used to say ‘baba’ before she learned to say ‘mama’. She has just started saying mama and mum now she’s almost 15 months x
