Development

What is everyone’s 14 month old doing in terms of them development. I know every child develops at their own pace but I feel like my son is slightly behind. He used to be able to say a few words and now won’t even say mama or dada anymore☹️

As you say every child is different. My first walked quicker and talked quicker. My nearly 14 month only walked 2 weeks ago independently and says "mum" for everything, but knows where the snack cupboard is and she will walk there herself and bang it. At this age I'm not concerned.

Before 1 my daughter was saying loads, then she stopped and went back to babble for a few weeks and now she’s back to saying words and saying new ones! I think it’s just a phase! They say understanding comes before speech x

My daughter 14 months and she can crawl, pull her self up, walk across furniture. Can do ta if you asked to do it. She says dadda and few other words. I wouldn't worry so much. My oldest didn't do half much as she doing at this age but then again she was late for everything because she was born so early. I was concerned that my little wasn't sitting by herself yet and I said to health visitor about they said go to doctor but they didn't do much. But then one day she just started doing it she just needed bit more time. Every baby learn at different rates. Dont worry to much x

They often stop saying words they know when they're focusing on learning a new word or skill! So I wouldn't worry about that

My 14 month old has hit every physical milestone early - sitting, crawling, standing walking all before 9.5 months. She does have a few gestures like pointing with one finger, clapping etc but only has a few words; mama, dada, nana, ta and bye. Honestly though, i really wouldnt worry. Every baby is so so different x

My little girl is nearly 14 months and still not walking, I worry all the time about her development as she has been late with every single milestone, but I keep reminding myself that she will get there eventually ☺️

My 14 month old isn't walking but can pull up and cruise . He knows most of his body parts says car go and dada but nothing else.can point a few animals if he's in the mood. I feel like he isn't doing much . At the end of the day, none of us have ever got a trophy for walking quicker or talking or doing anything before others. They all get there at some point, and then you would never be able to tell who was a late walker or an early walker or crawler, etc. And when they are learning a new skill, they put an old one to the back . Its hard not to worry but focus on the other skills they r doing x

My 14 month old can walk, say mummy, daddy, nanny, bubble, ball and birdy. Can dance along to nursery rhymes and can make 6 animal sounds when shown a certain animal. Knows body parts such as head, hands, ears and feet. Will collect things if ask for certain toy etc.
