I think it’s common to show interest in food before their digestive systems are ready for it. Best to stick to 6 months, my HV said early weaning can increase risk of IBS later in life & allergies.
I started my 5 month on organic purees & organic baby rice. Having no issues..
@Emelie when I hear this it makes me wonder, how about all the generations before that were weaned at 3 months including ourselves. I think IBS is more to do with the food we’re all eating these days - full of rubbish preservatives, additives and chemicals.
I know! and I guess IBS is common. And some people say all the sugary processed food children were fed in the 90s has helped cause high rates of ADHD too 😬
I’d personally wait until 6 months, the national health service has endless years of research and I don’t understand why people wouldn’t follow it. I know it’s cute to watch babies eat but save yourself the pennies and wait till 6m 🤍 like other comments early weaning has been linked to future problems that many adults are having
@Emelie I’m waiting till 6 months. Not sure to do purses or baby led, just nervous about the step up form milk to baby led
If it helps my mum weaned me very young I think 3 months and I’ve got really bad digestion issues now.
We’re planning on starting puréed tastes from next week (5 months) but probably won’t start with BL or proper solids until 6. Our little girl is also showing signs x
