Experiment with different foods. Things you dont think will be okay, end up okay. .. sometimes.I always add fiber powder to my water to help bring down sugar. Always start with a protein even if you're going to have some sugar or carb. If you really want to cheat, go for a walk afterward. Thin sliced daves kllr bread is the best. Figure out a night snack that works for you. My first pregnancy was peanut butter. Second was sugar free yogurt. Have proteins to snack on, hardboiled eggs, meat sticks, smoked salmon, tuna. I basically do a modified keto. A keto diet with carbs. Look up keto on Pinterest and just so know to add in some carbs, which makes it feel easier. I'm sorry, I'm most likely on my third go of gestational diabetes and I'm already doing a dairy soy free diet for my breastfeeding little. So wish us both luck. Haha
Frozen section has some "real good" brand options which is low carb/sugar. When im not.in the mood.to cook. Oh yeah, protein pasta was a game changer for me last round. I could actually eat a ton of pasta because of it and always be fine.
You've done it before, and you'll do it again! I never liked oatmeal before having kids, but now I find it almost comforting. It's so versatile. You can have it hot or cold; sweet, savory, or plain; overcooked or just slightly wet (both of which are better than it sounds!). I bet you could find a delicious way to eat oatmeal, and after you do, it's available at bulk prices. 👍
Do you like to eat strawberries, raspberries, blueberries? I normally turns these when I have a sugar craving . .
This time round I’ve been diagnosed at 11 weeks. I already knew from 9 and I’m now 13 and been on insulin for 2 weeks. Just cut back on what you can, give your self smaller portions. I’ve cut out loads but I still occasionally snack I just split it down so if I had sweets I make them last a few days rather than eat the bag and I wait a few hours after meals. I judge it by how my sugars are over the day. It’s hard to just cut out everything but dropping down the portions help too! X
My snacks are: cheese sticks, plain Greek yogurt with cinnamon, cottage cheese, unsalted nuts, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal and peanut butter crackers as a diabetic. I eat six small meals instead of 3 large ones. Stay hydrated and walk as much as you can. Stay strong!
Thank you everyone so much so far for your advice My question I’ve been thinking of is did any one of you guys have Pepsi zero or diet pop during your pregnancy to cut the urge of regular pop cravings
@Darci hey! Not sure how often you check your messages on here but I sent you one when you get a chance I’d love for you to look at it 💜
I know how you feel I am going through the same but I still struggle with morning sickness so I need to eat every 2-3 hours but I find berries is a good option and nuts celery and carrots are good too as snacks
