Transition to own cot

Hey guys I need some major advice! Little man is outgrowing his beside cot, now thing is I’m in a rut, he won’t sleep unless I’m rocking his next to me (it can rock) or won’t nap unless on me and in the rocking chair, the ONLY way I can imagine doing this is letting him cry it out, otherwise we will never make progress? I don’t know what to do

We’ve just started the pick up put down method, basically for every nap and bedtime make the room like night time (dark, white noise etc) and put them down to sleep and leave or stand out of sight, the moment they cry pick them up and soothe, then put straight back down when they stop, repeat repeat repeat until they settle to sleep. That way they know you’ll come if they need them. We’ve just finished day 3 and it’s hard but we’re getting there. She can put herself to sleep in 20 mins now and we use to exclusively contact nap & rock to sleep! X

@Talia Thank you! What would you do in the instance baby doesn’t sleep/nap when put down? I’m worried I won’t sleep at all 😭🤣 x

We haven’t had that happen yet so wouldn’t want to give you bad advice but the advice i’ve been told by HV is that they WILL settle and fall asleep eventually, and they will likely cry but always pick them up as soon as they cry! X
