Walking on tip toes

Does anyone’s little one still walk on tiptoes a lot? I asked preschool to have a look and see what they think and they agree he walks on them a fair amount and have recommended speaking to HV or GP, but HV’s are useless, just wondering what GP might do if anyone has been through it and can let me know?

I’ve read before that it can be that the tendons in the lower legs can be tight, which can cause the tiptoeing, they can be given a procedure for this, or physio maybe x

@Kirsty thank you, preschool said him walking like that could cause the hamstrings to not grow properly and if it’s not stopped soon enough he might need surgery to correct it 😳 He’s woken up twice this evening sobbing and complaining of his legs hurting too x

Oh gosh, I hope you can help him with it soon, that must be hard to hear him say his legs hurt xx

Walking on top toes can be due to a variety of causes, some physical and some neurological. My daughter is being assessed for autism and walks on her tiptoes all the time, which is common for autistic children x

@Colleen neurological issues are not a concern, all involved have agreed he shows absolutely no other traits
