@Caitlin Ah okay! Im having an elective c section so I’m not sure how it works, with my first I was on the ward for a few days after a bad birth and I really don’t want to be on it again 🥲x
I believe if you explain you're anxious and things they might be able to help, the midwives are absolutely amazing at George Elliot and will do what they can to help but it just depends if someone else takes priority for whatever reason or they don't have the staff available to have you in a separate room they might not be able too, can you contact your midwife in advance to discuss? If they have notice especially with you having elective section they might be able too xx
I was refused a room while on an extended stay for issues with my baby he was put in light therapy and was put in the special cot at the side of my bed that takes up loads of room I have anxiety about him and the drs in and out all night waking everyone up and they. I was also very upset over being separated from my other child with special needs and wanted him to be able to come visit without disturbing anyone else on the ward and still said no. I was told after you can pay to have a room but I didn’t no till after and not sure how true it is
Depends Whilst you're in labour your in a private room anyways, for induction/after you'll be in a shared room divided by curtains, you might be able to get one but it depends on why you want one and if other people need it more but in more than likely no you wouldn't be able too My labour was essentially perfect no tearing no issues so I got discharged after a couple hours so got to stay in delivery room as noone needed it and it was pointless moving me
