I was reviewing the sample election ballot and have a question. There are a few office elections with only one candidate. If I don't support that candidate, should I leave the space blank? Also, how is the decision made? Does that candidate need to receive a certain number of votes to be elected? If they don’t receive enough votes, who takes that position? I apologize if this seems like a silly question, but this is my first time voting.
Unless you want to do a write in, if no one votes for them and you write your name, then you'll win. Otherwise, they will win because no one is competing against them.
@Gwendolyn thank you so much for explaining.
You're welcome. I forgot to mention... they also get to vote and will vote for themselves, and they will probably have family vote for them so they don't completely get 0 votes.
