Counting

Any advice on how to get my nearly 2 year old to count. His speech is very good and he is like a little parrot and copies everything we say. He says 2 all the time and knows its 2 in a line of something etc. And occasionally has said other numbers. Because his speech is good I don't think it's that he can't say numbers more won't...

We've added it into daily activities and over the last few weeks she's picked it up pretty quickly. For example, counting something onto her food plate, walking up/down stairs, putting puzzle pieces away etc I say a number, she says it back and then we continue. It's amazing how chatty they can be x

My little one loves counting to miss Rachel’s counting songs. We also count all the time like when building, popping fidget toys, walking up and down steps xxx

We just do it within our routine, going up and down the stairs, building, ready steady go games, but 1,2,3! Xx

@Ieesha agreed - we've been counting everything we could. Like cars if he's looking out the window, shoes, fingers, stairs when he's going up/down. You get the idea!

My daughter doesn’t say many words yet but we expose her to counting in a natural way, as we encounter things to count. In books, at the store, for games (1,2,3…). She will point to the items in turn as I count x

Get them to watch little baby bum on YouTube it actually works they also learn the alphabet too.
