She saying hiya, mama, dada, duck, bye and woof woof. It's definitely normal for children who are exposed to different languages to take a bit longer to speak. I wouldn't worry 🙂
No words other than babble mama dada etc.
Thanks guys! Put my mind at rest a bit 😅
None 😂
No words. She’s babbles none stop tho and seems to understand. So if I tell her to get her shoes she will go and pick them up or feed teddy if she has a spoon she will go and put it near her teddy’s mouth but no actual words yet. She’s nearly 14 months.
None
Mine has said ‘up’ for a few months now but recently has started saying mama, cat, meow, hi, bye bye, book, bubble, duck, quack quack She can’t say dada yet My eldest couldn’t talk until about 15 months so don’t worry x
My boy doesn't say any words in context except maybe dada. He babbles non stop and makes lots of different sounds but just no actual words. He understands a fair bit eg will point to the cat/aeroplane/car etc or get books or his water if I ask him, and he can sign for milk, food and all done. He's 13.5 months
Ours just says ‘uh oh’ when he throws food on the floor! He has also said ‘no,’ ‘clap’ and ‘ta’ (thank you) in the past but doesn’t really say those words now. He doesn’t talk anywhere near as much as his big sister did at his age.
As a bilingual home I’ve always wondered whether to stop speaking in two languages and just let him master one then start the other? I don’t know just thoughts
@Jay I'm not an expert in anyway but my cousin's were brought up in a bilingual home and I think they took a bit longer to learn initially but then it seemed to click and their speech came on so fast! Id say keep it up!
Mine can only say mama, dada or yay. I think she understands her name and simple words like “stop” and “come here”. We speak to her in four languages. I think it’s normal, especially for children exposed to many languages. Some children I know from bilingual families didn’t speak even at two years old.
