C-section at GWH

Anyone who has recently had a planned section at GWH, how far in advance did you get your date? My midwife seems to think it will only be given to me at my pre-op which is 39 weeks but I have a consultant appointment at 35 weeks so thought it might have been then?

Yes it’ll be at your pre op, although I got mine early at a consultant appointment as I had to complain to PALS so it was redone with a different consultant who actually did my surgery so she confirmed the date then for me

I picked a date at my 35 week appointment but they said to me it’s not confirmed until the pre op appointment the Friday before. For me there were no issues though and it was on the date I picked

I had my pre op at 36weeks and told me then but she ended up coming a day early so it turned into an emergency as she was breech x
