I’m having the same issue I’m 37 weeks scheduled for my second c section next week I’ll let you know how it goes!!! My toddler weighs 32 pounds and is very clingy I’m nervous but lets see how it goes
Start now preparing toddler for the changes. My toddler jumps on me and pushes me playfully and I tell him he has to protect me and baby, or when the baby comes, we have to be more gentle. I also am trying to make him more independent with getting dressed and bringing his plate to sink and sleeping alone. Books about new baby helps. He's almost 4 so think of a few things you can do and work on it for the next few months through this transition.
@Jo I might invest in some steps to help. That could be a good idea. Thank you. X
@Juli all the best. Please let me know how it goes and how u cope
@Sarah thank you I do worry he won’t understand but it definitely might be worth a try. X
I had a very cuddly 19 month old when I had a planned section. I was incredibly fortunate that #2 was a very sleepy baby who wasn't overly demanding, so I could give #1 more time. She got really good at climbing up next to me and I worked out a system so she could climb into her cot using a step. By the time my husband went back to work, I was feeling better in myself and able to do more physically. However, I did think ahead and ask him to do more physical jobs before leaving for work e.g. getting out the pram, bring the washing down etc.
