Is this normal children interaction? FTM here. Or the child has abnormal aggression and should stay away?

My 1 year old got punched in the face with a closed fist by a 5 year old. I know kids punch and push but hit in a face with a fist and such a big age difference?

Wow! Wth? Why would a 5 year old do that? That seems too aggressive for me

I would need more context like where it took place and what’s the relation

I can’t imagine a situation where this would be normal. I’m so sorry. Is your baby ok?

@Gemini 3 children were in a playpen together, my son 1 yo and his 2 cousins, each 5 yo. My son was walking along the fence on the playpen and lost his footing and leaned on one of the kids, the other kid saw this and punched my son because he “didn’t like that my son touched his friend/cousin”. I guess he’s possessive or protective of his friend/cousin.

@Brittany yes he’s ok, he cried for a bit and had a red spot for like 20 mins.

Wtf at 5 years old he should know better than to just punch a baby in the face

Oh no, sometimes kids hit but full on closed fist punching that's not normal and he's 5 he should understand by now not to hit. I'm sorry that happened to your baby

Thats not ok. My daughter is 5 and if she punched anyone she would be in serious trouble but she certainly knows not to hurt babies x
